Sleep like a log in this bed with its gnarly headboard fashioned from a maple burl. Also known as a cluster, a burl is the twisted, knotted growth that sometimes occurs at the base of the maple tree. The unusual formation makes for a visually beautiful piece of wood, but it's not suitable for structural purposes. The side rails, footboard and posts are solid walnut. Shown here in queen, it's also available in king (depending upon availability of lumber). Matching nightstands are also offered ($1,950 for two).
