With patterns, rubbings and historic images from a variety of sources, this blanket chest was designed to look like a piece from the 17th Century. Father and son work together at a small family shop in New Jersey to create heirloom quality pieces. According to the son, Dad has a bad habit of "jumping over the velvet ropes in museums" to obtain rubbings of historic furniture pieces. Shown here in oak, this blanket chest is offered in a variety of woods and finishes. Price varies widely based on amount of handcarving requested for sides, lids, legs, panels and more.
