Reproduced from photographs of an original 1720s William and Mary highboy, this new piece is made with solid walnut and matching walnut veneers. The drawers are outlined with a herringbone inlay. The stretcher's shape mimics the cut-out of the case's front apron. Reproduction drawer pulls are solid brass, affixed with snipes, an 18th Century fastener akin to modern cotter pins. According to the owner of the small Pennsylvania shop that creates this piece, it represents about six weeks of work.
