Made from Honduras mahogany and accented with ebony, the solid wood top on this Arts & Crafts desk is 1" thick and has breadboard ends. This unique edging (which is slightly thicker than the table top) allows for expansion and contraction of the wood and also creates a relief dettail. Modern and antique tools are employed to hand build this desk, which weighs more than 300 pounds. The file drawer has full-extension metal slides and the other desk drawers feature handcrafted maple runners. The desk is finished with an oil based stain and catlyzed lacquer.
