The words "sewing table" may conjure up the image of a wobbly, weak-kneed stand, but this piece is handbuilt with solid hardwoods and features pegged joints, splined mitered corners and dovetailed drawers. Patterned after a design from the Shaker village in Canterbury, NH, it's offered in American black cherry, tiger maple, birdseye maple and mahogany, or a combination of woods. Finish options include a natural oil, lacquer or a handrubbed stain. Decorative handpainting and faux finishes are also offered. Danish oil is recommended by the manufacturer for periodic renewing of the finish.
