Built on a solid mahogany frame, the top and drawer fronts of this dresser are made with padauk, an exotic Asian wood that has a striped black grain. The drawer boxes are made with solid cherry using dovetail joinery. Red cedar bottoms give fabrics a nice smell and repel moths. Handmade by a veteran cabinetmaker, the chest relies on the beauty of the natural wood grain, rather than ornamentation for interest. The pieces are finished with natural oils and wax.
