The four contoured drawers on the lower portion of this chest-on-chest distinguish it as Bombé (kettlebase) furniture. Fan carvings, fluted Doric pilasters and intricately carved finials and rosettes complement this replica of a 1780s chest, originally crafted in the Boston area in 1935. The chest is part of the company's reproduction furniture line licensed by Colonial Williamsburg. Made of solid mahogany, this Stickley reproduction has working locks on all drawers, a secret compartment for hiding your valuables and sand-cast brass accents and hardware. The chest is hand finished and each piece bears the initials of its cabinetmaker.
